Marlowe's 80th Birthday Blast!

Last weekend Scott and I drove up to St. George for Marlowe's 80th birthday party.  Most of the kids were there and it was great to catch up with some that I hadn't seen for years.  Upon arrival on Saturday, we had dinner and then drove over to Brigham's Playhouse to watch Annie Jr.  It was a really cute show.  Then we went back to the house for some visiting and waited for latecomers to arrive. Then Scott and I went back to our hotel and as we were driving into the parking lot, we noticed that Brick Oven, which was wonderfully situated right next door to the hotel, was still open.  I may or may not have subconsciously picked that hotel for the location of Brick Oven.  I am not admitting to anything though.  Scott asked me if I wanted to go.  My first thought was that it was 11pm and a ridiculous hour to go get something to eat.  My next thought was that it was Brick Oven and so I said yes!  So glad we didn't pass on that opportunity!
YUM!

The next morning we went to church and then we all gathered at the club house for the birthday celebration.  Here are some of the highlights:
The club house was a perfect place for everyone to gather and have lots of room for activities.

Some enjoyed playing pool while others got into an intense game of chicken foot.
There was even shuffleboard and horseshoes outside.  Scott spent lots of time playing outside with the kids.  Regan, the girl in the above photo, creamed us both at shuffleboard several times.  Pretty embarrassing.
Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate cream filling.  It doesn't get any better than that! Good choice Marlowe!

And three gallons of ice cream.  Need I say more?
Happy 80th Marlowe!  You look great!!

Anxiously waiting......
Long day!
That evening we watched Saratov Approach and visited some more.  It was so fun to be with everyone and celebrate Marlowe's life.  We love you Marlowe and are so grateful to be a part of your family!!

We also had the opportunity to go visit my lifelong friend, Cheryl, and her family while we were there.  Cheryl and I were seminary and girls' camp buddies and then roommates at Heritage Halls.  I am so glad she was with me through all of that.  Thanks for getting me through!!
Friends for 35 years and counting!
It was another great trip.  Now we are home for a few weeks and then off to Vegas for Jared's wedding.  So stay tuned!!

Catch Up

It's time to catch everyone up on other things that have been happening (Ashley's wedding post is below.).  First of all, summer is back.  We had our first triple digit temps on April 10!!
Ugh.
We joined the Robinson's for their Easter egg hunt on Easter morning.  I hadn't done that for many many years....so fun.
Searching......

.....and searching....

Scott was helpful in reaching the high ones.

Cute kids!!
I made another trip up to Utah for Ashley's bridal shower.  I went a few days early to get in some play time.  It was beautiful weather and the spring flowers were in bloom.  Nicole, Camden and I took a trip over to the tulip gardens at Thanksgiving Point.  It was beautiful!

Being silly.
That weekend everyone gathered for Ashley's bridal shower. Nicole did an awesome job as hostess. There was yummy food, cute decorations, and fun games.
Ashley played a game where she had to answer questions and match her answers to what Jason said or end up with a marshmallow in her mouth.  She did pretty good but as you can see, ended up with a few in her mouth. She was a good sport!

See what I mean when I say they take the cutest pics!
For Mother's Day, Scott and I drove to Hemet to surprise my stepmom, Donna, and take her to dinner.  I couldn't remember the last time I saw her or Callie, so we made a quick trip.  We are so glad we did!  It was so fun to surprise her and to see Mike and his family.
Dinner at Red Lobster.....best rolls EVER!! I will not say how many I ate because that would be embarrassing.

My beautiful girls....can't wait to have you here this summer!

Is this a great shot or what?!?!

Love and miss you Donna and Callie!  It was so fun to see you.
Dan, Nicole, and Camden drove out for Ashley's wedding a few days early so we were able to spend a couple of days playing and celebrating Nicole's birthday.
Happy 28th Nicole! You look great!

Group effort.

Well, I think this is the cutest boy that ever was......

See????

Testing the water. It actually feels pretty good, I'm planning to start some water exercising this week.

Grandpa and Camden playing while Mom works??  Something isn't right here....
We have been having so much fun lately!  We feel very blessed to have had opportunities to see our family so often this year.  We are also looking forward to celebrating Marlowe's 80th in St. George this weekend and Jared's wedding on June 21 in Las Vegas.  Stay tuned!!!!

Ashley's Wedding

Ashley and Jason got married last Friday!  We all traveled to Prescott to participate in the festivities.  It was great to be with everyone and to see how happy Ashley and Jason were at their wedding.  Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I'll give you a slide show of the day:

The procession has begun.

And the ring bearer makes a beeline for his mom!
