Utah Trip February 2014

Last weekend Scott and I flew up to Utah for a visit.  We had a great time with family that we don't see often enough.  It's always so fun to reconnect and catch up with everyone.  We stayed with Dan and Nicole and so we got extra quality time with them and also play time with Camden.
Camden LOVES playing in the basement.  Dan and Nicole recently finished their basement and it's beautiful, functional, spacious, and fun.  It's Camden's favorite place to be (maybe because all of his toys are down there now) so we spent a lot of time downstairs. On Saturday, Jared came over with his fiancee, Cate.  It was fun to get to know her and find out some more details about the wedding.  They have a lot of fun ideas and things are moving along.  Jared and Cate make a great couple and it's so nice to finally know her personally.  We are so excited for them.

On Sunday we headed up to Bountiful after church for a family dinner at Jo Ann's.  She moved her normal March dinner up a week so that we could participate, which we really appreciated.  They always celebrate the birthdays for that month so we celebrated Drew's 13th birthday.  Also, Jo Ann's husband Art would have been 100 years old this month so we celebrated his birthday too and those who knew him shared fun memories.
Three out of his four kids were there so they blew out the candles.
We were also able to get a group shot of our immediate family while we were there.  We missed you Ashley, Jason, and Corinne!
On Monday, we went to see Becky's art exhibit up in West Jordan and there was a park right across the street so we stopped and played for a while.
Camden wanted to slide down.....

......climb up.....

......and crawl through everything.
Scott flew back home Monday night (sniff, sniff) and I stayed the rest of the week.  On Tuesday, I got together with my roommies!  I met Pam, Ellen, and Gayle (We missed you Cheryl!)  in Lehi for lunch at Bona Vita. (By the way, I highly recommend this restaurant.  It's in the Traverse Mountain Outlet Mall.  YUM, YUM!!) Then Gayle had to head back to work, darn it, so Pam, Ellen, and I went down to BYU to see the Sacred Gifts Art Exhibit.  (By the way, I highly recommend this exhibit.  It's beautiful!)
Friends for 33 years and counting!

One reason I wanted to go to Utah this month was because I needed my annual snow fix.  Well, the weather was spring-like all week with no hint of even any leftover snow on the ground.  Although, I have to say that I was the only one complaining.  Then when I was at BYU on Tuesday I found this.....
I was so excited!  We were at the BYU Creamery when I found it so it may just be some frost from the walk-in freezer that someone threw out.  However, I am going to hold to the belief that it survived the last snow storm and waited for me to get there. I was favored with some beautiful mountain scenery though.
On Wednesday, I went back to BYU, this time with Nicole and Camden to have lunch with Jared.  Thanks Jared for spending your lunch hour with us so I could visit with you one more time.  That was fun!
Camden was so excited to see Uncle Jared again.
Future BYU student(?) getting a tour.
Typical day at BYU....aw, the memories!
And back in the basement to play...........

I spent the last couple of nights in Bountiful with Jo Ann.  She treated me to Fiddler on the Roof and we did some shopping.  Thanks to all for a great visit!!  And of course, on Saturday, a big storm came in as I was getting ready to fly home.  Just a lot of rain that made for a bumpy flight, but I made it home safe and sound, just in time to watch the cultural celebration Saturday night.  It was POURING rain but the youth had smiles on their faces and gave us a great show anyway.  As of yesterday, the Gilbert temple is dedicated and open for business starting tomorrow!

Looking forward to our next big adventure!
