Cheerleading Competition

This past weekend, Scott and I went to Long Beach to see my nieces perform in a cheerleading competition for their school. They did a great job. They got 2nd place at the one that day and then they competed again the following day in Irvine and got 1st place. Way to go, Tori and Jen!!

These pictures turned out kind of blurry. They were moving around pretty fast! But you'll get the idea...........

Long Beach Sights

Between the competition and the awards ceremony, we were able to walk down to the harbor and see the sights of Long Beach, including the Queen Mary. It was a beautiful day for a stroll........

Magnum's Car!!!!

Of course nothing was quite as beautiful as Thomas Magnum's Ferrari!!! We found this on our way back to the competition. The only thing missing was the driver!

Celebrating Corinne's Birthday

We celebrated Corinne's birthday on February 1st. We were joined by Ashley and by Corinne's friend, Tres. For dinner, we had chicken pillows, which were delicious. Then it was time to open presents:

Julie found a creative use for old Bisquick and Wheaties boxes, so that Corinne had no idea what was underneath the wrapping paper:

Inside each box was a smaller present, of course, including volume 2 of the Glee soundtrack:

After all the presents were unwrapped, we enjoyed a cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory, split 5 ways (one for each of us):

Although the dinner, presents and cheesecake all were enjoyable, the highlight of the evening was our special guest, who graciously agreed to pose for a photo with Corinne:
