St. George and Tuacahn

Earlier this week I went to St. George for a girls trip with Karina, Gurrie and Agnes.  We had been talking about going to Tuacahn Theatre for a while, none of us had been before, so we planned this little getaway.  Here are some highlights:

We saw Cinderella the first night and Matilda the next.  They were both fantastic and so well done, it's a really fun place to go!!

Waiting for the show to start!

So excited!

St. George has beautiful green trees all around and pretty scenery that we're not used to so we were soaking it in.

They also have some beautiful historic homes, this is Brigham Young's winter home.

Fun lunch place.
And this has to be the first sewing machine ever made?  Pretty cool.
Spent Tuesday morning at the St. George temple.

I can't believe in all those times I have been to St. George I had never been to the temple, so glad we did that.
Jacob Hamblin home made me very very grateful I live in the 21st century.

Break from the heat.

Red Barn ice cream!
One of my favorite places in the world.
2nd night at Tuacahn, ready to see Matilda!

Quiet (and silly) morning playing games before we headed for home...

...but not before stopping at Red Barn one more time to get some goodies to take with us and talking ourselves into one more ice cream cone!

Best apple juice in the world made it home with me to AZ!
Really fun little getaway, we had a great time! In eight days we leave for our Alaska cruise so be watching! Can't wait to share all the fun.

Happy New Year!!

I am very embarrassed to say that I have not updated our blog since our Hawaii trip.  I am here to make amends by giving you a quick look at how 2018 has gone for us so far and pledging to be more diligent during the 2nd half of the year.  Because that is where we are, right?  About to start the 2nd half of the year....GOOD GRIEF!!!

I have spent a good part of this year finishing a class on the Reformation. I took the final exam last week and have already started a new class on World War II.  I really want to finish before Scott retires and we are both realizing that is right around the corner!  We have already taken some trips this year and in between those and studying, I have also been busy with Primary and Scott has been busy with work and church.  Here are some highlights:
Yes, we are going all the way back to Christmas! We decided to go up to the snow this year.

Building an airplane with Grandpa.

Legos, legos, and more legos, Camden is a master and I am amazed at his creations, he is so talented.

I love that smile!

And that one too!!

Lots of games were played!
I also got to visit David, Hannah, and Aiden.  Mom and Marlowe joined us too!

Such a cutie!!

Proud dad.
I also got to meet Ruby during that trip, so sweet!

Corinne's birthday at Melting Pot...happy birthday Cori!!

Cori and Jordan got us tickets to Hale Theater for Christmas, fun night!!

So Agnes has taken up the bass, she rocks it at her concerts! Although carting it around has proven a little difficult, but she is a trooper.

Kids at play.

Neighborhood game of croquet.
I took a trip up to Utah in May for BYU Women's Conference and so I was able to play with these two cuties again.

Lots of games were played while Camden was at school.

LOVE my Mother's Day apron!

Got to spend some quality time with Pam at conference and, of course, our old stomping ground, Brick Oven!

A very nostalgic place....
Mom and Marlowe treated me to the best ice cream in the entire universe!!

Cute family!!

Finished the school year with some concerts...

Agnes's last elementary school concert...next year, junior high!

Next year for Gurrie....COLLEGE!!
Abbey, Jake, and Ruby came for a visit! Ruby loved meeting Riley....not sure if the feeling was mutual.

We got LOTS and LOTS of big smiles from her throughout the weekend.

Going for a walk.

See?

Ok, I guess it wasn't all smiles.  She wasn't too sure of the pool scene.
She learned to tolerate it but that's about it.  Sorry Ruby!!

Ahhhh...

Got some ping pong time in.
Ok, you've almost made it through!  We're up to last weekend!!  Hang on a bit longer....
Scott and I went to San Diego last weekend to spend time with Morgan and Hannah to celebrate their graduation.  No, I can't believe they are that old either!!  Hannah performed in a San Diego Youth Symphony concert at Balboa Park Friday night. She rocked it!!

They introduced us to a lot of vegan food over the weekend, quite tasty.

We introduced them to Code Names and they couldn't get enough of it!
We spent Saturday at the Safari Park.

Hanging out with the gorillas...

...and the elephants...

...and Mr. Giraffe....HELLO!

Kind of hard to see, but there is a goat standing on the branch of that tree!

Such a fun weekend with the girls....congrats Morgan and Hannah!!
Ok, now you're all caught up...sort of... that was very brief but heartfelt!!  This year has been a blur already but we are healthy and happy and grateful for the experiences we are having.  We are looking forward to our Alaska cruise in July so stay tuned!!
